Malenadu Gidda (Malnad Gidda) is a small indigenous breed from the hilly Western Ghats belt.
Despite its dwarf frame, this breed is known for intelligence, calm behavior, and adaptability
to heavy rainfall and forest-edge grazing conditions.

  • Small body frame, usually around 2-3 feet in height
  • Suited to high-rainfall, herbal-rich hill ecosystems
  • Traditionally used in temple rituals and abhisheka seva

Milk Quality

High-fat milk (about 4-6%) traditionally valued for digestibility and medicated preparations.

Agricultural Value

Dung and urine are highly valued in panchagavya inputs for natural farming and ritual use.
